Restaurant Yamaguchi
Last weekend, with a light drizzle falling ☔️, we visited Port Washington on Long Island and finally tried the highly recommended Yamaguchi — a place we’ve been wanting to visit for ages! 🌧️🍣 The original owner and head chef were both Japanese, making the food incredibly authentic. It was even a regular spot for Hideki Matsui, the former Yankees superstar! ⚾️⭐️ Recently, we heard the ownership has changed, but the quality remains top-notch — and we can confirm it’s still amazing! 👌💯 We ordered the Sushi & Sashimi Omakase for $75 per set. It included all the classics: toro, sea urchin, scallop, sweet shrimp — you name it! 🍤🐟 The presentation was absolutely beautiful, like edible art! 🎨🍱 The Inaniwa Zaru Udon is a must-try! 🍜 It’s a type of handmade Japanese noodle — so chewy and satisfying — served with a dipping broth flavored with a hint of wasabi and soy sauce. Simply delicious! 😋👏 We also had the fried soft-shell crab — a classic dish that’s hard to mess up. 🦀 As long as it’s fresh, it’s always tasty, and Yamaguchi’s version did not disappoint! ✨ The tempura was perfectly executed — crispy, light, and not oily at all. You can tell the tempura chef really knows their stuff! 🍤🔥 Since we were super hungry, we also ordered a lunch bento for $22.95, which came with a bowl of rice 🍚. We’d give it a solid 9/10! The shrimp sandwich included in the bento was especially creative and tasty! 🥪🦐 The restaurant was quiet and peaceful during our visit — not crowded at all — making it easy to relax and truly enjoy the meal. 🧘♀️🍵 If you’re ever on Long Island or nearby, definitely give Yamaguchi a try! Walk-ins are welcome, no reservation needed! 🚶♀️✅ Address: 49 Main St, Port Washington, NY 11050 Note: The restaurant closes in the afternoon, so make sure to check their hours before visiting! ⏳🚪 #NYCFoodAndFun #NYCFood #GlobalFoodieChallenge #JapaneseCuisine #LongIsland #LongIslandNY #LongIslandEats #SushiLovers #OmakaseExperience #AuthenticJapanese #HidekiMatsuiApproved #TempuraTime #UdonLove #CozyEatery #FoodReview #EatLocal #PortWashington #LongIslandFoodGuide #NYFoodScene #MustTryNY
