Restaurants Near Airports in the DFW Area Perfect for Build Time
✨Build time loves restaurants that are close to small airports—convenient and time-saving. Here are four of my favorite on-site airport restaurants that I often visit: ❗KRPH Hatchet House B.B.Q. The restaurant is right next to the airport, an 8-minute walk away. But the FBO has a crew car, so it’s just a 1-minute drive across the street. The barbecue is very Texan-style. The pulled pork and brisket are both pretty good. The creamy corn side dish is delicious. After your meal, you can grab a DQ (Dairy Queen) treat nearby. The runway is long, and fuel is relatively cheap. The FBO offers snacks and drinks for $1, with plenty of options. ✨KCLL ⭐️Gate 12 Bar & Grill This is a Class D airport, quite large with a wide runway and a great control tower. The FBO is also very nice. You must either refuel or eat at the restaurant upon landing, otherwise there’s a ramp fee. The restaurant is right next to the FBO. Their sweet potato fries with cinnamon butter are amazing. The dining environment is great, and the prices are reasonable. However, fuel is expensive here, but you can fill up at the nearby 11R to the south. T67 Wing It Cafe Open from Wednesday to Sunday until 2 p.m., it’s a great spot for brunch. You can sit outside and watch planes take off and land. The restaurant is right next to the self-serve fuel pumps. Their skillet and stuffed French toast are both delicious. Note that the runway is very short and narrow, and runway 14 is an RP with a lot of traffic. It’s also adjacent to AFW Class D airspace. Not recommended for VFR solo flights if you’re a first-time pilot. 🚫KPNC 😋Enrique’s Mexican Restaurant The restaurant is right next to the runway, where you can watch planes take off and land. I’m not usually a big fan of Mexican food, but I’ve been back to this place several times. I recommend their shrimp tacos and beef skillet. If you plan to visit, avoid lunch hours when the kitchen stops taking orders. #Flying #Pilot #FlightStudent #PilotLife #FlightLog #FlyingFriends
