Rhode Island | New West African Restaurant in Downtown
A new West African spot just opened in PVD, and I tried it last night—totally blown away! 🥘 If you’re not sure what to order, go for the African Dinner—it’s absolutely delicious! 🍺You get fufu made from yam and yuca, served with egusi stew (made with pumpkin seeds, spinach, chicken, and fish). 🍺 The stew is so fragrant and rich, and the fufu is wonderfully soft and sticky—I couldn’t get enough! If you like tripe, you have to try Orishirishi. The tripe and tendon are braised to perfection—so tender and flavorful. 🍛 For Black History Month in February, they’re offering a special menu. If you like chicken, try the Jollof Rice with Chicken. The chicken is fried first, then stewed—so the meat stays juicy and the skin stays crispy. 🍰 The African Dinner also includes a piece of cake—you can choose from chocolate, guava, or pineapple cheesecake. If you prefer it without sauce, just let them know in advance! Suya Joint Providence📍 320 Westminster St, Providence, RI 02903 #RhodeIslandEats #ProvidenceRI #RhodeIsland
