๐ Richmond Food Guide Vol. 2
๐ Lazeez Modern Indian Flair ๐ฝ๏ธ Cuisine: Upscale Indian + Bar ๐ Why we tried it: Highly recommended by two Indian professors! ๐ถ๏ธ Flavor: Perfect for curry and spice lovers โจ Highlights: Curries & Indian desserts ๐ Atmosphere: Chic bar-restaurant vibe, great for groups ๐ต Price: Around $30 per person ๐ What We Ordered: ๐ Bread: Butter Naan ($4) Garlic Naan ($5) ๐ Curries: Butter Chicken ($18) Chicken Tikka Masala ($18) Surf and Turf Curry ($22) Khumb Matar Paneer ($17) ๐ง The naan here is incredibly fragrantโcrispy on the outside, soft inside, filled with the rich aroma of baked butter. The Garlic Naan takes it up a notch with a savory garlic kick, almost like Chinese scallion pancake ๐ฅ but better! Eating it plain is great, but dipping it into Butter Chicken sauce? Absolute heaven ๐๐. ๐ Butter Chicken: A must-order at any Indian restaurantโand a true test of their skills. Lazeez serves arguably the BEST Butter Chicken in Richmond ๐. Itโs incredibly creamy with a strong dairy aroma, followed by a tangy tomato note and a subtle spicy finish. ๐ถ๏ธ Chicken Tikka Masala: Another popular choice. Unlike Butter Chicken, itโs less buttery and more focused on onions and curry, with a stronger emphasis on spice. ๐ฆ Surf and Turf Curry: More unique and less mainstream compared to the others. It offers complex layers of spiciness and is extremely satisfying with rice. Highly recommended if youโre tired of classic butter chicken! (Note: Iโm not great with spice ๐ ) ๐ Khumb Matar Paneer: A mild vegetarian curry. Pretty average overall, but the mushrooms inside were tasty! Other dishes weโve enjoyed before: Braised Lamb Rogan Josh ($18) โ Delicious from what we remember! Kulfi Mango ($5) โ Refreshing Indian mango ice cream ๐ฆ โ Final thoughts: Lazeez Modern Indian Flair is worth the price and a great choice for a nice meal out. If youโre looking for something more budget-friendly, Noorani Kabab House is a solid alternative! #URichmond #IndianFood #FoodReview #RichmondEats #SpicyLovers ๐ฅโจ๐ฅ
