Robert D. Ray Asian Gardens is a free public
🌵and we found it quite enjoyable. Although relatively small in size, the garden is delicately designed, with its prominent Asian-style structure being particularly photogenic—ideal for a short break and some pictures. 🌳We strolled across the bridge nearby and were treated to a panoramic view of downtown Des Moines, which was both refreshing and soothing. ☀️What we appreciated most is that this garden is more than just a scenic spot—it also reflects the history of Asian immigration in Iowa and honors the legacy of former Governor Robert D. 🌹 Ray, who promoted cultural inclusivity and refugee resettlement. Informational signs throughout the garden and its overall layout convey a subtle harmony between nature and human culture, 🍀 making it a pleasant place for those who enjoy plants, tranquil settings, and local history. While it may not be breathtaking, 🍁the garden gently blends nature, memory, and multiculturalism in a way that still makes the visit feel worthwhile. #AsianGarden #DesMoines #Iowa
