📍Rockport, MA | Colorful Memories of Fishing Harbors & Film Photography 📸 Tucked away in the northeastern corner of Massachusetts, Rockport isn’t just a town—it’s a tiny fishing village that feels like a portal to New England’s olden days. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Wander along its harbor, and you’ll be surrounded by weathered wooden docks, small fishing boats bobbing gently in the water, and the faint smell of salt mingling with fresh seafood from nearby shacks. The pace here is slow, the air is crisp, and every corner feels like a scene pulled from a vintage postcard—total nostalgia in the best way! And then there’s Motif #1—the bright red little house perched right by the harbor that’s basically Rockport’s heart and soul. ❤️ This tiny building isn’t just cute; it’s famous across the country as the “Most Painted Building in America”! Way back when, it was just a humble shed where fishermen stored their nets, ropes, and tools—plain and simple, built for work. But over time, artists and photographers (myself included! 😂) couldn’t resist its charm: that bold red against the blue sky and ocean, the way sunlight hits its weathered wood, the little details that tell stories of the town’s fishing history. It’s like a natural focal point—no matter where you stand, it draws your eye, and you just have to capture it. I must’ve taken a dozen photos of it alone—each one felt like a new way to see its magic! This time, I shot everything on Kodak’s E100VS positive film—and let me gush about this roll for a second! 🎞️ The “VS” stands for “Vivid Saturation,” and let me tell you, it lives up to that name 100%. It cranks up the saturation and contrast to just the right level—no fake, over-the-top hues, just rich, vibrant colors that make the scene pop. The sky here? A deep, clear blue that looks like it’s glowing. The ocean? Shades of turquoise and navy that shift with the waves. Even the green grass along the harbor edges feels brighter, like it’s been dipped in fresh pigment. It turns ordinary moments into something almost dreamlike—exactly why I love film so much! And get this: this roll expired back in 2014! 🤯 I was nervous when I loaded it—worried the colors would be faded, or there’d be weird spots, or it would totally (color cast). But to my surprise, it held up perfectly! No weird discoloration, no loss of sharpness, just that classic E100VS pop I was hoping for. I’ve still got a few rolls of the final-edition 120 format stashed away—they’re like little treasures now. I’m already planning my next trip (maybe to a quiet lake or a small mountain town?) to shoot them—curious if they’ll be just as good! 👀 There’s something special about capturing a town like Rockport on film. Digital photos are quick and convenient, but film? It makes you slow down. You think about each shot—how the light will hit, how the colors will translate, what story you want to tell. And when you finally get the prints back? It’s like holding a piece of that day in your hands—faded just a little, but full of feeling. Rockport’s charm is in its quiet, timeless beauty, and E100VS didn’t just capture that—it amplified it. These photos aren’t just pictures; they’re color memories I’ll keep coming back to. #MyPhotographyDiary#Photography#Film#FilmPhotography#TheUniqueColorOfEveryTown#TravelAndPhotography
