Roma|An Adventure -Old Girarrosto Fiorentinolao Steakhouse 🥩
Girarrosto Fiorentinolao - A historic Roman steakhouse with over a hundred years of tradition. The staff? A group of 60-70-year-old gentlemen, as elegant and refined as you’d expect. The restaurant opens at 7 pm, and I made a reservation for 7:30. I arrived early, but the doors were still closed. I could see the grandpas inside, calmly prepping ingredients, completely unhurried. I figured I couldn’t go wrong with this place—it’s clear they don’t worry about business. The service was top-notch, and their attitude was lovely. After taking my order, they even asked about the serving sequence I preferred. I have to admit, the portions here are huge! The appetizer, a beef tartare, was as big as the steamed meat pie my family makes. I was already full after finishing it! They even seasoned it right in front of me—classic Italian flair. (Though it ended up a bit too salty… I think grandpa got too excited when he saw everyone filming him and overshot with the salt!) The T-bone steak? At least 5 cm thick 🥩! And that was just a two-person portion—way too much to finish. I ordered it medium-rare, and it left the steak enthusiasts speechless 😅. But don’t be fooled by the look—it wasn’t undercooked; it’s a well-aged steak. Pretty delicious, actually! After the meal, one of the grandpas told me he’d been the manager here for over 50 years!! This restaurant has passed through four generations, expanding from just one kitchen to its current size. Seeing I was Asian, he even pulled out his treasured bottle of Dassai sake to show me—adorable! #CCDcamera #HiddenGemRestaurants #Italy #RomeFoodie #RomanHoliday #Rome #DateNightRestaurant
