Rome's Trastevere District: So Much to Explore and Eat! 🍽️✨

📍 I completely abandoned the overcrowded tourist spots in Rome and immersed myself in the narrow, winding streets and small squares of the Trastevere district. Both day and night, it’s bustling with young people, and the crowds of tourists are much lighter than at the major attractions. 🍨 Plus, there are so many great restaurants, cafes, and gelato shops, all offering high-quality options! This area is probably the most vibrant in Rome, located close to the Mouth of Truth and the Flower Market. The center of the neighborhood is Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, known for its street art and unique restaurants. 🍝 After lunch, I strolled through the alleys, discovering countless designer shops, jewelry boutiques, and vintage thrift stores hidden away. When hunger struck at noon, I passed by the restaurant Tonnarello, where I could sit outside without waiting in line. I tried their classic signature dish, Carbonara 🍝, a typical Roman local dish—served in a small pot. I also ordered a thin-crust pizza topped with ham 🍕, which had generous ingredients and great flavor. After so many visits to Italy, I believe that having Carbonara (pasta with meat and egg) in Rome is a must! Forget those bolognese or seafood lobster pastas! Additionally, their recommended roasted lamb chops, oxtail, and meatballs are absolutely delicious. When the bill arrived 💶, I was thrilled to see that the two of us only spent €39, which is a fantastic value! 💰 What more could you ask for? 🚎 Transportation The Trastevere district is located in the city center, and while it doesn't have a metro station, there are plenty of accessible buses. You can take the 23, 280, or N11 buses 🚌 or explore the Flower Market before walking over. For that, you can catch buses 40, 916, 64, N5, and N15. 🎶 Performance In the evening, I strolled over to the ancient site of Circus Maximus to catch an outdoor live performance by Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour. 🎸 #AutumnVibes #Italy #Rome #RomanCuisine
