Rome Restaurant Review 🍴 Michelin Two-Star Il Pagliaccio

💶 612.00€ for 2 people + 91.8€ service fee. The card was charged only 612€. (They offer 6, 8, and 10-course options. You can order à la carte at lunch. We chose the 8-course menu at 170€/person.) 🌸 Ambiance & Service: It was decent. The chef has spent some time in Japan, and you can see a lot of Japanese influences. The chef seems to admire Japanese culture. The food was alright, but nothing was particularly amazing except for the last dessert. There were also a few misses. If you're traveling, I wouldn't recommend this place ❌. The one-star Imago is far superior in taste, less expensive, with better ambiance and service—it beats this place in every way. 🍽️ Starters: Both were good. There were actually two dishes that I thought were appetizers, both with a Japanese presentation like Kaiseki. Tomato 🍅 with some kind of crispy biscuit—very refreshing. Sashimi with foie gras and plum sauce—a beautifully plated dish 🌸, very Japanese in style, but only good for photos. The sashimi and foie gras weren't very tasty. Morel pasta: The seasoning leaned towards Chinese-style, not bad. Meat rolls: Tasted very much like something from Hakkasan or Lei Garden, giving a Chinese cuisine vibe. Monkfish: Had a strong herbal taste, didn't like it. Cheese ice cream: I don't like cheese, so this wasn't for me. Banana mousse ice cream + roasted banana with black sesame biscuit: The banana mousse was shaped like a honeycomb, reminding me of the butter from Kina in Shanghai (probably the same mold, haha). The banana mousse ice cream was the best of the night 🌟—super delicious! Tea & Coffee: We chose red tea and white tea. The teacups looked like oversized toothbrush cups you'd find at a supermarket, and the teapot 🫖 was as big as a kettle. Both teas were incredibly bland, almost tasteless, like drinking hot water. #MichelinRestaurantReview #RomanHoliday #Rome #RomeFood
