🌅 Rooftop Dining in LA: Sunset Views & Delicious Food 🌮
Cara Cara, the rooftop restaurant located in the Fashion District of downtown LA, is inside the Proper Hotel. ☕ Afternoon tea is also served on the first floor. Hotel valet parking is available, making it very convenient. Take the elevator directly to the 15th floor, then walk up to the 16th-floor rooftop. The restaurant is quite spacious, with both indoor and outdoor dining areas. We came specifically to watch the sunset, so we requested a table by the edge, offering a panoramic view of downtown. The outdoor area has sunshades and heaters. 🌇 The evening is the busiest time, so making a reservation in advance is highly recommended. Cara Cara is hailed as one of LA's best rooftop restaurants for food. Though it serves Mexican cuisine, the style is quite Americanized. Since rooftop spots often prioritize views over food, we didn’t have high expectations—but we were pleasantly surprised! The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. 😋 🍕 The Mushroom Pizza was the most fragrant—the crust was baked to a perfect crispiness. We also ordered two types of tacos 🌮 (each order comes with three). The beef taco is highly recommended—the meat is braised until tender and comes in large, flavorful chunks. The shrimp 🦐 taco was just okay; while the shrimp were large, you can find similar ones elsewhere, so maybe skip this one. The tacos are served with pickled vegetables, which add a refreshing touch. The drinks were tasty and strong. 🍹 Service was also good. From sunset 🌅 to nighttime, we got to enjoy two different views of the city. The bar is very large, and many people come here just for drinks and the night scenery. 📍 1100 South Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90015 Have you been to a rooftop restaurant with a view this good?
