Rumi’s Kitchen – A Must-Try Persian Restaurant in Houston

Restaurant: Rumi’s Kitchen This is a classy and delicious Middle Eastern restaurant—so good that after my first visit with friends, I immediately went back a second time with family! Dish Recommendations: 1️⃣ Labne with Charred Tomato – Recommended by the server. A luxurious Middle Eastern strained yogurt cheese paired with roasted tomatoes �, drizzled with olive oil and mint. Silky, tangy, and rich—a centuries-old delicacy once reserved for nobility. So delicious we ordered it again on our second visit! 😋 2️⃣ Mushroom Hummus – Creamy chickpea hummus topped with oyster mushrooms, black garlic, and porcini. An umami bomb—absolutely amazing! 3️⃣ Mirza Ghasemi – Smoky grilled eggplant with garlic and tomatoes 🍅—so flavorful! 4️⃣ Lamb Kabob – Juicy grilled lamb skewers served with raisin-studded basmati rice and beans. The rice alone was so good I could’ve just eaten that! 5️⃣ Duck Fesenjoon – Tender duck legs in a rich pomegranate-walnut sauce, served with crispy-bottomed rice. The sauce mixed with rice was chef’s kiss—and the portion (4 duck legs!) was incredibly generous. 6️⃣ Lamb Shank – Braised until fall-off-the-bone tender, served with turmeric-lime broth, dill, fava beans, and saffron rice. Another server recommendation—hearty and aromatic. 7️⃣ Chinjeh Lubia – Grilled beef tenderloin with green beans, tomatoes, and Persian-style rice. Also fantastic! Desserts are supposedly amazing too, but we were too full this time. Next visit!
