Main cathedral has ancient frescoes (moderately preserved). Open in summer (ticketed), closed in winter. Church of the Epiphany π Built in 1684. Classic Yaroslavl style: green domes + red brick + colorful tiles, with Baroque influences. Interior ancient frescoes. Summer only (ticketed). Church of Archangel Michael πΌ Built in 1657. Rare orange-white exterior. Interior frescoes not yet restored; only underground level open for prayer. Cathedral of the Dormition βͺ First built in 1219, reconstructed 5 times (latest in 2004). Interior still unfinished but open for prayer and visits. Free entry! π Church of Elijah the Prophet πΏ Built in 1647. Green domes + white walls + colorful tiles. Rich interior frescoes β one of the cityβs most famous churches! Summer only (ticketed). Tserkov' Nikoly Nadeina π¨ Built in 1621. Plain exterior but exquisite interior frescoes. Summer only (ticketed). Kazan Women's Monastery π Founded in 1610 (late Classical style). Closed during Soviet era; its legendary "Kazan Icon of the Mother of God" was stolen and remains missing. Reopened in 1998; fragments of ancient frescoes preserved. Open year-round, free entry! π Church of St. Nicholas the Wet π§ Built in 1665. Red brick + green domes + colorful tiles.
