Yaroslavl: Two Days & One Night!!! 🚄❄️

We started from Moscow — note that near Komsomolskaya Metro Station, there are several train stations with unclear signs at the entrances. We almost went to the wrong one! 😅 Thankfully, a friend noticed in time. Always check the map! 🗺️ I absolutely loved Yaroslavl! The weather was perfect, the people were super friendly, and the food was great — no disappointments! 🥰 Almost no foreign tourists and very few local tourists — the city was quiet but not as silent as Murmansk at night or as crowded as other attractions. Perfect for strolls! 🚶‍♀️ Day 1 Had (kebab) opposite the train station — just okay, seemed more focused on takeaway. Only three chairs for dining, so it was cramped for four. 🍖 Saw people cross-country skiing on a frozen river branch ❄️⛷️ — later learned from hostel TV that it’s actually a popular sport here! Visited Церковь Иоанна Предтечи (Church of St. John the Baptist) 🏛️ — a 17th-century church and tower featured on the 1,000 ruble note. Currently closed (open May-Sept). Enjoyed the frozen Volga River and sunset views 🌅❄️ — magical! Warmed up in a self-service coffee kiosk ☕ — a local guy smiled and asked, "Тепло здесь?" (Warm in here?) 😄 Took a long walk from the Yaroslav the Wise Monument north along the river — passed many historic sites and churches 🏛️✨. Skipped the park accidentally but enjoyed the views! Avoid souvenir shops along the way — museums sell cheaper souvenirs! 🎁 Dinner at Пауза (Pauza) 🍽️ — a cute Russian restaurant with pretty presentation but standard taste. I had щи (cabbage soup) and тушёная говядина (beef stew) — a bit heavy together. Day 2 Brunch at Organic Coffee ☕ — several branches in the city, nice ambiance. I had the "village breakfast," friends tried udon noodles, English breakfast, Bavarian breakfast, and cheesecake — all delicious! 😋 Visited the Музыка и Время Museum (Music and Time Museum) 🎶⏰ — small but fantastic! Highly recommended! Collection of clocks, bells, record players, pianos, etc. Free guided tour with demonstrations — the guide played piano, danced with us, and let us try instruments! Souvenirs were super cheap — 100 rubles for 12 postcards! 🎉 Sobranie Chocolate House 🍫 — amazing ice cream! Went twice in two days. Tried salted caramel, raspberry (digestive tablet flavor 😆), and Raffaello (toffee-like) — all yummy! Historical Museum was under renovation — only the medical exhibition was open. 🏥 Dinner at Your Time 🧇 — waffles and pancakes, decent. Many other restaurants nearby too. #Russia #Yaroslavl #GoldenRingCities #Suzdal #Moscow #StudyInRussia 🐻❄️
