Study Abroad | Don’t Miss Yaroslavl! 🌟🇷🇺

1️⃣ Transportation We came from Moscow — you can book tickets on Russian Railways 🚉 or buy them directly at Yaroslavsky Railway Station. 💰 Prices are affordable (max 2,000 RUB; our morning 7:30 train was only 900+ RUB!). 🚕 Taxis are cheap here — highly recommended if you’re with friends! 2️⃣ Attractions Start from the train station and head to Церковь Иоанна Предтечи (Church of St. John the Baptist) — an abandoned but beautiful church featured on the 1,000 RUB note. 🏛️ Then take a taxi to Богоявленская Церковь (Epiphany Church) — small but free to enter! 🆓 Right outside, you’ll see the Yaroslav the Wise Monument (also on the 1,000 RUB note!). We met a lovely lady working there who shared fascinating history — free guide! 👵📚 Next to the statue is the Yaroslavl Museum Reserve — multiple exhibitions, combo or single tickets available. Student discounts apply! 🎟️ Walk along the Volga River to Часовня Казанской иконы Божей Матери (Chapel of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God) — a small but charming chapel. Sunset walks along the Volga are a must! 🌅 The evening glow is stunning! You can also see the October Bridge from afar. Visit Церковь Илии Пророка (Church of Elijah the Prophet) in the evening — it’s in the city center with nearby markets and a shopping street (like a mini Arbat!). 🛍️ 3️⃣ Food Near the train station: ШашлычOK76 — serves shawarma and kebabs 🍢, tasty and reasonably priced. During Maslenitsa (Pancake Week), we ate bliny (pancakes) 🥞 at the museum’s buffet — only 50-70 RUB each! The street near Церковь Илии Пророка has many restaurants and bars 🍻 — perfect if you’re unsure what to eat!
