San Antonio → Dallas Stopover: Mini-Castle & Viral Cupcakes
🚗 San Antonio → Dallas pit-stop in Waco turned into a full photo-shoot + dessert run 🤣 🏰 Cottonland Castle (1890) A pocket-sized “medieval” castle tucked inside a Waco neighborhood. Built by a stone merchant and later redesigned by famed Texas architect Roy E. Lane (he also did Waco’s old courthouse and several iconic churches). Sandstone walls, stone fence, wide lawn, golden light = instant fairy-tale vibes ✨📸 🧁 Silos Baking Co. Joanna Gaines’ bakery lives up to the hype. Couldn’t pick one flavor? Grabbed a 6-pack sampler. A tad too sweet for me, but still worth the calories. 🏡 Magnolia Market Right next door—Joanna’s lifestyle wonderland. Snagged dried flowers for the living room and browsed curated kitchenware, candles, and garden goodies. 🍢 Bonus Round: Seafood + BBQ Had to finish the day with Texas BBQ. The “bing fan” (Taiwanese shaved-ice rice) was incredible. Seafood pot was loaded—shrimp, crab, clams—super fresh. Chef apparently changed, so flavor was a bit different from last time (still great). 💬 Quick recap: If you’re driving San Antonio → Dallas, detour through Waco. Quick, easy, and your camera roll will thank you. #TexasTravel #HiddenWaco #CottonlandCastle #RoyELane #SilosCupcakes
