🌸Cuartel de Ballajá This former Spanish military barracks has now become the most dynamic cultural square in San Juan. ✅When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, the courtyard surrounded by three colonial buildings in soft yellow hues had been transformed into an open-air market, with over thirty artisan stalls arranged neatly under the arched walkways. 🌷Puerto Rico's multicultural spirit comes alive here. A local potter was demonstrating how to create clay pots using traditional Taíno techniques, while at the next stall, an elderly woman skillfully woven handbags from palm leaves. 🌳The most popular spot was the coconut candy stand, where the caramelized aroma of simmering sugar blended with the lively tunes of a live Cuban jazz band. ⭐We tried a local drink called "coquí," a unique blend of passion fruit and coconut milk brewed in a copper pot. 💧Although the Ballajá Museum was closed due to the event, the historical atmosphere in the plaza felt even more vivid. #ArtisanMarket #PuertoRico #SanJuan #CulturalPlaza
