San Juan Mavi Café

✅In the early morning, the old town still carried the scent of dew as we followed the aroma of freshly ground coffee and pushed open Mavi's blue wooden door. 🌊The barista was putting the finishing touches on latte art and greeted us with a "Good morning" when they saw us. The loft required stooping to access, but sitting by the weathered wooden window, 📷We ordered two types of empanadas—the beef filling fragrant with cumin, and the chicken filling mixed with green olives. 🌴After bringing them back to the hotel and reheating them in the microwave, the pastry surprisingly remained flaky and crisp. The way the beef juices seeped into the dough reminded us of from back home. 🥙When we returned at 3 p.m., we noticed locals buying a type of powdered sugar-dusted fried doughnut.
