Santa Monica Birthday Pick — Understated, Comfy & Tasteful 🎂

This year’s birthday, I craved a “proper steak” and found this spot in Santa Monica 🥩🌊 Great overall vibe — retro American industrial decor plus ocean views outside — perfect for dates, birthdays, or any celebration. After eating, a stroll by the beach is the ideal finish. 🍞 BUTCHER’S BREAD Super crispy bread with butter and a sauce recommended by the server (forgot the name… but delicious!) 🦪 OYSTER SAMPLER Mixed sizes — fresh, just the right briny flavor. 🔹 Crab Cake Just okay — lots of filler mixed with crab meat, texture wasn’t the best. 🥩 Bone-In Ribeye (30 days aged) The star! The restaurant recommended 45 days for more flavor, but we chose 30 days — aging was just right, tender without being too salty 👌 24oz plus starters was perfect for two. Ribeye has more marbling — fragrant but a bit oily. Next time trying NY Strip for balance. We also ordered a mushroom side — a bit salty, but paired well with the steak (balanced the richness lol). 🍾 Birthday Surprise Didn’t want wine, but they gave me FOUR complimentary drinks!!! I was shocked 🤣 🎂 Celebrating a birthday, so skipped dessert — but they allow BYO cake 🫶 If warmer, highly recommend sitting outside — sun + ocean view = better photos 📸 (Pic attached of all the love 💗 Isn’t the cake cute?!)
