🌿 Savannah Travel
🌿 Savannah Travel ▫️ A City Blanketed in Green Savannah and Charleston are often mentioned together for Southern trips. Though they’re in different states (Savannah is in GA 🍑), they’re super close—just over an hour by train! Perfect to visit both in one go. I spent two days in Savannah in early September. The weather shifted between sun and clouds, but the early autumn South was still warm and inviting. ☀️🍂 Day 01 ▫️ Forsyth Park Almost every block in Savannah’s historic district has a little square—so perfect for slow walks 🚶♀️💚. Forsyth Park is the largest one, with a beautiful fountain and tree-lined paths. Ideal for sitting under the oaks and daydreaming. 🌳⛲️ ▫️ SCADstory I didn’t know about SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) before this trip, but the exhibition blew me away—I even looked up how to apply after! 🎨😄 It tells the story of how the founder started SCAD in a then-declining Savannah with nothing. Now the school shapes the city’s identity. The exhibit uses cool 4D storytelling—I’ll leave the details for you to explore! ▫️ Chippewa Square The most famous square thanks to Forrest Gump 🎬🍫—though the bench is no longer there. ▫️ River Street Savannah Georgia The riverfront offers wide open views with lots of restaurants, souvenir shops, and candy stores 🍭🛍️. I came both day and night—the peaceful evening vibe was my favorite. 🌉 ▫️ Andrew Low House Savannah is known for its ghost tours 👻💀. This historic house is famously “haunted.” The tour included a visit inside + spooky storytelling by the river. A fun mix of history and chills! Day 02 ▫️ The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist A stunning church near Andrew Low House ⛪✨. I saw crowds taking photos at night, so I returned to see the interior the next day. Nearby is Colonial Park Cemetery, filled with historic stories. ▫️ City Market & American Prohibition Museum City Market is the tourist hub—full of gift shops and horse carriage tours 🐎🎁. The Prohibition Museum was a fun surprise 🥃📜! It covers everything from social trends to gang activity and even how prohibition indirectly advanced civil rights. There’s a speakeasy-style bar inside—it stays open after the museum closes! Rumor has it you need a password to enter at night… didn’t try it myself but sounds fun 😉 What stuck with me most in Savannah was… the green. The sky-covering oak trees 🌳, the squares waiting around every corner, the leaf shadows dancing on old brick walls… In this city wrapped in green, I slowed down and said hello to a calmer self. 🍃❤️ #SouthCarolina#Savannah#VisitSavannah#Georgia#TravelGram
