SCADstory — Attraction in Savannah

Have been coming to Savannah all of my life and really haven’t heard the story of SCAD. It is quite impressive! Yes, it’s a recruiting tool for the school but it's incredibly done, free, and is a great oppty to be in air conditioning during the summer. The story is inspiring and was completely done by students which makes me love it even more. It was way beyond what I was expecting- I thought it was going to be”just” be a movie. It was creative and fun! Kind of feels like Disney or Hogwarts.

SCAD has done so much for the city of Savannah and this is a great way to understand the simple beginnings of SCAD and how a simple idea and some grit could make such a huge impact on a city and an industry. Because of this success and its involvement in the community, it’s now part of Savannah’s story. I always thought it was “just” and art school but it goes way beyond that - it made me want to go to SCAD and I’ve been out of college for 20 years!

To those complaining that it was just marketing for the school - what else did you expect…and why are you complaining if it was free? It’s literally a 20 min experience (that is really engaging) and you’ve spent no money.

So glad I found out about this experience on TikTok! Visiting Atlanta for two days with my brother and wanted to squeeze in something fun between shopping and eats. This experience is free with a suggested donation of $5 per person, which supports student scholarships (worth it!). Must reserve your time slot in advance online. This is the BEST interactive college experience I have ever had! It is completely student designed and oriented and truly feels like a Disney attraction or ride with the atmospheric effects and immersive setting, it’s amazing and perfect! Not too long but it actually exceeds my expectations and the gift shop merchandise is also designed by SCAD students so everything is just better than if it was made from out-of-touch adults.
