Seafood BBQ in Rowland Heights

Finally visited this Korean-style grilled seafood spot I’d bookmarked for weeks! Named The Pirate, it’s fully themed—and our meal arrived on an actual pirate ship platter. Talk about a visual feast! ⚓😍 We ordered the Gold Set for 2–3 people plus a marinated crab. The set was so massive, all three of us left stuffed beyond belief! 😆 Having lived in Korea before, I usually avoided seafood there since it’s often served plain with just one dipping sauce (초장). But here, they offer three delicious sauces—tweaked to suit more palates! The marinated crab (Ganjang Gejang) was the highlight 🦀✨. Unlike some overly salty versions I’ve had in Korea, theirs was perfectly seasoned, letting the crab’s natural sweetness shine—and no fishy smell on your hands after! Pro tip: Mix rice into the crab shell or squeeze the roe over your rice—Koreans call it “밥도둑” (rice thief), because it’s seriously addictive! Attention to detail was top-notch: they have live tanks behind the bar, so seafood is freshly caught and grilled on the spot. Some shells were still moving on the grill—now that’s fresh! Already planning my next visit to try their charcoal-grilled meats. It’s gotta be amazing! 📍 The Pirate Seafood BBQ (해적 조개구이) #LAfood #LAexplore #LAeats #GlobalFoodieChallenge #LAKoreanFood #RowlandHeightsEats
