Seattle | East District | My Personal Favorite Japanese Eatery
This was the first Japanese restaurant I tried when I arrived in Seattle at the end of 2021. It’s been our go-to Japanese canteen in the East District for my roommate and me over the years, and I’ve successfully recommended it to many friends. Recently, I realized I haven’t taken photos or summarized many of the places I frequently eat, so I’m trying to fill in the gaps slowly. ⏰ Business Hours Lunch: Tuesday to Friday 11:30-13:30 Dinner: Tuesday to Saturday 17:00-20:00 ✅ Reservations The restaurant doesn’t accept reservations, but you can order takeout. If you mind waiting in line during dinner, it’s best to arrive right at 17:00. I once got there at 17:30 on a weekday rainy day and was third on the waitlist, waiting about 40 minutes. 💰 Average Cost: $100, but it varies depending on what you order. Dish Recommendations and Warnings: 👉🏻 Summary 🐟 The fish is always very fresh, and many of the hot dishes are also noteworthy. There are sometimes specials on the small blackboard, and I’ve rarely been disappointed. It’s perfect for when you’re in the mood for a cozy Japanese meal. 👍🏻 Omakase Sushi (12 pieces), $64.50 The omakase sushi comes in 10/12/15 pieces. Ten pieces are enough for a girl to feel full. The sweet shrimp heads are served separately. The geoduck and fish with skin might be a bit fishy for some, so if you’re sensitive to that, you can ask for a different fish when ordering. 👍🏻 Black Cod Teriyaki, $34 Although the presentation might be a bit rough, this is my must-order every time! The black cod is very tender, with no fishy taste from the skin to the flesh. The vegetables and fruits soaked in teriyaki sauce are also very flavorful. 👍🏻 Tonkatsu, $19.50 The fried pork cutlet is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a sauce that’s not too sweet or too salty. 👍🏻 Coffee Jello, $7.50 The homemade coffee jelly has a strong coffee flavor and is served in what seems to be sweet milk with a touch of coconut milk. Coffee lovers, go for it without hesitation! 👍🏻 Red Bean Ice Cream, $7.50 The ice cream has a light texture and a moderate sweetness typical of Japanese ice cream. It’s the flavor you’d expect. Other dishes I’ve tried: 👍🏻 Agedashi Tofu, $8.50 👍🏻 Soft Shell Crab Tempura, $16 👉🏻 Tenzaru Udon, $19.50 👉🏻 Unaju, $37 #Seattle #SeattleLife #FoodExploration #JapaneseCuisine #SeattleFoodExploration #Dinner #ThatsWhatMyDinnerLooksLike #JapaneseCuisineExploration #SeattleFood #SeattleFoodExploration
