Seattle | Eastside’s New Kaiseki Cuisine Towa: No Disappointments

🌟I stumbled upon a $(pricey) kaiseki restaurant called I Love Sushi near my home, unexpectedly located next to a dry cleaner in the Whole Foods plaza – a bit of a surprise and I was worried it might be a letdown, especially since Redmond has been a desert for Fine Dining. But given the good reputation of the people behind I Love Sushi, I decided to check it out as soon as I could. 🌟Aside from the high pricing, I was actually quite pleased. The ingredients were standard, without any particularly unique pairings or techniques, and the presentation was average. However, the meal was very enjoyable with no disappointments – from appetizers to desserts, the flavors were well-balanced, and the pacing was good, although the snow crab and tofu soup was a bit too salty and thick. 🌟The highlight was the large pot of cod pot rice, which was very comforting on a cold, rainy day. Plus, there was enough left over to take home for lunch. The service is still finding its groove, but the standards are set pretty high. You can tell the restaurant has ambition, and I hope they thrive in the Eastside. Their menu changes monthly, so I’ll probably visit again. #omakase #japanesefood #japanesecuisine #restaurantexploration #seattlelife #seattlefood #seattleexploration #eastseattle #Redmond
