Seattle | Eating & Exploring in Capitol Hill
Today, Seattle had a rare sunny day, so a friend and I headed to Capitol Hill after class to try NUE, a nine-country fusion restaurant I’ve had bookmarked forever, and Phe, known as Seattle’s best matcha spot. 🍗 Tower of Chengdu Wings Smaller than expected—about three wings and three drumettes. Thought it would be super spicy, but even we two Cantonese folks didn’t find it too hot. The spiciness was uneven—some bites were fiery, others mild—but the chicken was tender and well-seasoned, less greasy than many Korean fried chicken spots in Seattle. 🍞 South African Bunny Chow A South African curry bread bowl. The server asks if you want rice or a bread bowl—definitely go for the bread bowl! The curry soaks into the bread, making it super flavorful and a fun, unique experience. What’s especially cool is that the bill comes tucked inside a book! The restaurant is also filled with quirky little trinkets—you can tell the owner put a lot of heart into collecting them. 😊 Afterward, we spontaneously decided to grab matcha at Phe. 🍵 Koko Matcha Kloud Rich matcha cream topped with coconut water—I added jelly too. This is one of the rare unsweetened matchas in the U.S.! The staff told me they don’t add any extra sugar, so it’s guilt-free sipping. It reminded me of a matcha cream version of Jasmine Milk White’s pistachio jasmine coconut drink. So refreshing—I felt instantly awake after drinking it. Absolutely delicious, will definitely be back! Too bad they were out of musubi. 😅 #EatDrinkExplore #StudentFoodie #ExploreAndEat #SeattleLife #SeattleFood #SeattleExploration #CapitolHillEats #CapitolHill #UW #UniversityOfWashington
