Seattle | Mercer Island

The long summer days in Seattle always leave plenty of time for a stroll after dinner 🚶🏻‍♀️. Yesterday, on a whim, I decided to visit Mercer Island for the first time since I’ve been in Seattle. I arrived just in time to catch the sunset 🌇. Looking across Lake Washington, I saw the towering skyscrapers of downtown Seattle against a pink sky, a view quite different from being in the midst of it. The park was filled with residents walking their dogs, and along the lake, I saw many people swimming and playing in the water or simply sitting quietly, lost in thought. The only words that come to mind to describe this island in the evening are peaceful and serene.
