A charming new bakery and dessert shop, JIE Bakery & Tea, has opened near the University of Washington. The store has a fresh, minimalist vibe and specializes in toast and cakes. 1️⃣ Cakes Black Sesame Cake and Matcha Basque Cheesecake were my favorites! Both are lightly sweetened, highlighting the aroma of black sesame and matcha 🍵—perfect for those who prefer desserts that aren’t overly sweet. For something visually stunning, try the Chocolate Blueberry Basque Cheesecake or Pistachio Basque Cheesecake. These are a bit sweeter but still far from the typical cloying sweetness of Western-style cakes. Pair them with black tea or coffee ☕ for a perfect match 😍. 2️⃣ Toast & Bread Don’t miss their bread and toast selections 🍞! Highly recommend the Black Sesame Toast—the combination of nutty black sesame and creamy sweetness is fantastic.
