Seattle Asian Art Museum

🌟It’s too hot, I don’t want to go anywhere. This morning, my husband and I went out for a walk before the temperature rose. I’ve never been to Volunteer Park before. 🌟The Seattle Asian Art Museum has an exhibition that’s about to end, so we came to check it out. This red, lantern-like sculpture is called the ā€œBuddhist Bug.ā€ The orange-red color symbolizes a monk’s robe and is the artist’s exploration of the organic integration and impact of faith and surrounding society. I don’t really get it, but I think it looks pretty. 🌟I also saw many exquisite artifacts from various Asian regions. I’ve seen many exhibitions in China, but the experience is always different abroad. 🌟Seeing the solitary Buddha heads on display, I feel sad, thinking they should be complete in temples and caves back home. The Shang Dynasty bronzes make me feel proud; while Westerners were playing with mud, our ancestors were already crafting beautiful bronze vessels. The Tang Dynasty funerary objects are fascinating. Back home, I often see equestrian teams and musical figures. Here, there’s a merchant with a beard and a hooked nose riding a large horse. It’s the first time I’ve truly experienced the charm and vast territory of the Tang Dynasty. 🌟The most amazing part is how foreigners like to display artifacts from different Asian countries together, allowing you to see the artistic expression and craftsmanship of the same item from different Asian perspectives during the same period. #SeattleSurroundings #WashingtonState
