Seattle Capitol Hill Japanese Dessert Shop – DeliciousTreats atBaiten
🤤 Baiten 📍 Right next to Tamari Bar. 500 E Pine St, Seattle, WA 98122 Currently open only Thursday–Sunday from 12 PM to 4 or 5 PM. We went around 1 PM on a Sunday, and many items were already sold out 😭, but the soft-serve cones were still available! They offer four ice cream flavors: black sesame, hojicha, matcha, and yuzu. This time, we tried yuzu and hojicha. 🍋 Yuzu soft-serve: More tangy than sweet—the yuzu leans toward a bright, lemony acidity, very refreshing and aromatic. If you don’t enjoy sour notes, you might want to skip this one. It tastes like a concentrated yuzu or lemon syrup with a touch of sugar. 🤙🏻 Hojicha soft-serve: Really tasty—the roasted tea flavor is rich and gets deeper toward the bottom of the cone. Next time, I’m definitely trying the black sesame—it looks amazing! The ice cream texture is smooth and creamy, without an overpowering dairy taste. 🍓 Strawberry Sandwich: They use Fuji Bakery’s Japanese shokupan (milk bread), which is excellent—though I feel Fuji’s newer version of shokupan is sweeter and even softer. Baiten’s fruit sandwiches clearly use carefully selected fruit—the strawberries are juicy and sweet, and the whipped cream is light, though I thought there was a bit too much of it. #Seattle#Seattlelife#Seattlefood#fooddiary#Seattlediary#foodguide#Baiten
