Seattle Crab Feast šŸ¦€ | Broke Student’s Life Upgraded by Parents’ Love

As a broke international student who counts every penny 🧮, I usually only buy discounted meat. I’ve been craving king crab like crazy, but could only stare at food pics and sigh šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø. That is, until my parents came to visit and said they’d treat me to something nice—my frugal student life got a forced upgrade, and it felt amazing 🄹! Before heading out, I scrolled Xiaohongshu to find where to eat king crab in Seattle šŸ“±. Most spots are either American Cajun joints or Cantonese seafood restaurants. Cajun-style king crab is usually around $80 a pound and frozen ā„ļø, so I decided to go for fresh crab at a Cantonese restaurant instead—it’s totally worth it for the freshness! āø» šŸ“ Fortune Seafood Restaurant (New City Seafood) We ended up choosing Fortune Seafood Restaurant in the south and walked right in (no reservation). There were only 2 king crabs in the shop—our server said one was already reserved āš ļø. Pro tip: Make a reservation first to avoid disappointment! There’s a blackboard with daily seafood prices—Norwegian king crab was $59.95/lb today. The owner said Alaskan king crab will be cheaper later, but it’s only fished once a year šŸŽ£. Friends who want to try it can keep an eye out! āø» šŸ¦€ King Crab Three Ways Garlic Butter King Crab Legs The crab was super fresh—simple garlic butter seasoning was enough to highlight its natural sweetness, no fishiness at all 🧈! The crab legs were packed with meat, and the three of us finished the whole plate in no time 🄢! Overall, the crab was about 6.5 pounds. The three adults ate most of it—we had a few pieces of the salt & pepper crab and half the fried rice left, which we packed to go 🄔. The seafood here is super fresh—the owner just got a new shipment while we were eating! They even gave us taro sago dessert for free at the end šŸ®. We left totally stuffed and happy. Now it’s back to cooking at home and saving money—until the next parent visit šŸ˜‚ [Fin] #Seattle #SeattleEats #SeattleLife #BrokeStudentEats #ParentsLove #KingCrabFeast #CantoneseSeafood #SeattleFoodie #InternationalStudentLife #FoodieAdventure
