Seattle Crab Feast š¦ | Broke Studentās Life Upgraded by Parentsā Love
As a broke international student who counts every penny š§®, I usually only buy discounted meat. Iāve been craving king crab like crazy, but could only stare at food pics and sigh š®āšØ. That is, until my parents came to visit and said theyād treat me to something niceāmy frugal student life got a forced upgrade, and it felt amazing š„¹! Before heading out, I scrolled Xiaohongshu to find where to eat king crab in Seattle š±. Most spots are either American Cajun joints or Cantonese seafood restaurants. Cajun-style king crab is usually around $80 a pound and frozen āļø, so I decided to go for fresh crab at a Cantonese restaurant insteadāitās totally worth it for the freshness! āø» š Fortune Seafood Restaurant (New City Seafood) We ended up choosing Fortune Seafood Restaurant in the south and walked right in (no reservation). There were only 2 king crabs in the shopāour server said one was already reserved ā ļø. Pro tip: Make a reservation first to avoid disappointment! Thereās a blackboard with daily seafood pricesāNorwegian king crab was $59.95/lb today. The owner said Alaskan king crab will be cheaper later, but itās only fished once a year š£. Friends who want to try it can keep an eye out! āø» š¦ King Crab Three Ways Garlic Butter King Crab Legs The crab was super freshāsimple garlic butter seasoning was enough to highlight its natural sweetness, no fishiness at all š§! The crab legs were packed with meat, and the three of us finished the whole plate in no time š„¢! Overall, the crab was about 6.5 pounds. The three adults ate most of itāwe had a few pieces of the salt & pepper crab and half the fried rice left, which we packed to go š„”. The seafood here is super freshāthe owner just got a new shipment while we were eating! They even gave us taro sago dessert for free at the end š®. We left totally stuffed and happy. Now itās back to cooking at home and saving moneyāuntil the next parent visit š [Fin] #Seattle #SeattleEats #SeattleLife #BrokeStudentEats #ParentsLove #KingCrabFeast #CantoneseSeafood #SeattleFoodie #InternationalStudentLife #FoodieAdventure
