✨Seattle Food | East District Malay Cuisine | Malay Satay Hut

Finally got to try this Malay restaurant that’s been all over my feed lately. Located in the same plaza where I used to go regularly Arrived around 6:30 PM on a Friday night, the place was just about full. If you’re worried about getting a table, you can call ahead to book one. 🔹Menu About $35💲 per person for seven of us. Carb bombs to the fullest! Hainan Chicken 🐔 We ordered a whole Hainan chicken for the seven of us separately with rice. Love the ginger scallion sauce; the chicken itself is quite tender, and there was no bloodwater in the bones. Fried Rice, Fried Noodles, and Soup Noodles 🍜 All delicious! My favorite is the fried rice, which has a sweet and spicy kick. The fried noodles have a delicious crispy egg inside. Fried Water Spinach 🥬 Tastes like it’s stir-fried with shrimp paste. Yummy, highly recommended! Bak Kut Teh 🥣 A friend said it was a bit cloying towards the end last time due to the strong herbal flavor, but I loved it! I think people who enjoy ginseng chicken soup should also be able to appreciate the herbal taste of Bak Kut Teh. Curry Beef Brisket 🐮 Delicious! The beef tendon is especially good. Pouring the curry sauce over white rice, I could finish half a bowl in one go. The dish tasted more like Mu Shu pork and didn’t really resemble the ginger scallion chicken I expected. It’s not bad, just a bit different from what I thought it would be when I ordered it. #SeattleFood #SeattleLife
