Seattle Food - Modoo Korean Restaurant
The ceiling of Korean cuisine in Seattle—personally, I feel it lives up to this title 😄. From the food and atmosphere to the service, it's close to perfect—the kind of gem you’d happily visit again and again. Three must-order dishes: pig trotters, stir-fried pork belly with squid, and galbi (beef short ribs). The pig trotters are braised until tender and flavorful, rich in collagen, delicious whether dipped in sauce or not. The stir-fried squid is full of wok hei, savory with a mild spice—the squid is springy and the pork belly caramelized. Together with the galbi (I recommend the bone-in version for more intense meat flavor), they're not only delicious on their own, but you can also ask the restaurant to make cheese fried rice with the remaining sauce and ingredients. The server will stir-fry it tableside—the rice gets coated in the rich sauce and melted cheese, making it the highlight of the meal. The tofu soup (seafood version recommended) and seafood pancake (crispy on the edges, soft inside, with a dipping sauce that elevates the flavor) are also excellent. All in all, it deserves its high ratings. The barley tea feels especially comforting in cooler weather, instantly evoking the cozy vibe of a Korean barbecue 😄. The restaurant is spacious with good ventilation, so you won’t leave smelling like grilled food. #Seattle#Seattlelife#Seattlefood#fooddiary#Seattleguide#SeattleRestaurant
