Seattle Food recommendation- Tanuki Izakaya
A Japanese izakaya with a great atmosphere, perfect for gatherings with friends. Located near the University of Washington with convenient parking. The appetizer Uni Foie Gras Toast is absolutely delicious. The bread is freshly toasted—crispy and fragrant—and pairs perfectly with the foie gras and uni, with no off-putting flavors 😋. For skewers, we ordered chicken wings, pork belly, and chicken hearts. The meat was tender and fresh, and I especially liked their house sauce—slightly sweet and not overly salty. A must-try is the Uni Don (Sea Urchin Rice Bowl). The portion is generous, the texture is excellent, and again, there’s no unpleasant taste. Topped with fish roe and served over fragrant white rice, it’s truly addictive 😄. The nine-grid sushi platter was mostly for the aesthetic appeal 😂. The seafood slices were large and very fresh, but next time I’ll probably order more skewers instead, haha. #Seattle#Seattlelife#Seattlefood#Seattleguide#fooddiary#sushi
