Second Visit to Hangang in Temple City đ
Oopsâjust realized my photos were out of focus when I got home đ Sorry, everyone! The three of us ordered the large portion for $99.99. Even with two of us having not eaten all day, we still couldnât finish it and had to take leftovers home. The meat quantity absolutely dwarfs Sun Nong Danâs, and the quality is excellentâtender, fall-off-the-bone braised beef ribs. Some bones even separated on their own, no scissors needed! âď¸ There werenât many veggiesâjust a few carrot slices, soft-cooked onions, and not many potatoes. So yes, itâs pretty much all meat! A few downsides: The flavor is on the lighter side. As a Cantonese person, I didnât mind the lower salt level (it meant I could eat more!), but it did lack that punch of intensity. They also donât adjust spice levels. The rice cakes couldâve been chewierâwe wished they were cooked a bit longer for that perfect (chewy) texture.đđ The banchan (side dishes) were slightly different from last timeâno pickled cucumbers, replaced by something like mac & cheese that was pretty bland. đ§ In summary: â Portion, meat quality, and service â Hangang wins. â Flavor depth and seasoning â Sun Nong Dan wins. If youâre curious, itâs worth a try! #LAEats #FoodReview #KoreanFood #MeatLovers #BraisedBeefRibs #TempleCityEats
