Sedona | ✨ Rene – A Tourist Trap Masquerading as “Fine French Dining”
Rene At Tlaquepaque 📍336 AZ-179, Sedona, AZ In a nutshell: We stumbled upon this French restaurant while exploring Tlaquepaque Village, but left a bit disappointed. Overpriced and underwhelming. 💸😐 💯 My Ratings (out of 10): Taste: 6/10 Ambience: 7/10 Value: 5/10 Overall: 6/10 Here’s what we tried: 🧅 French Onion Soup Gratinee Okay, but not great. The cheese wasn’t too thick, onions were soft and chunky, broth wasn’t too salty — probably the only semi-recommendable item. 🥪 Monte Cristo Sandwich Chicken + ham sandwich, sweet and salty with powdered sugar on top… but the bread was way too dry! 🥲 The cranberry-Dijon sauce was nice, but couldn’t save it. 🍟 Duck Fat Fries Couldn’t taste any “duck fat” magic — honestly, McDonald’s fries are better. Sorry not sorry! 🙈 🥗 Baby Green Vinaigrette The dressing was SO sour! Eating this felt like a chore. Needed serious mental preparation with every bite 😵💫 We didn’t even order steak or “real” French mains — just sandwiches and fries… and it still felt overpriced. Should’ve gone to the blue McDonald’s instead 🟦🍟 Final verdict: Skip this one if you’re in Tlaquepaque. The village itself is lovely to explore — just pick another spot to eat! 👋 #SedonaEats #FrenchFood #FoodReview #Sedona
