Sedona Travel Guide: West York Trail

🌟We went on the Monday morning before Thanksgiving, a local tour guide recommended it as the best scenic spot in his opinion (he’s an elderly American man). The scenery was indeed nice, but probably not the best. 🌟The park opens at 8 AM, and we arrived at 7:15 AM. There’s a small parking lot outside the park where you can pay using their special envelope and place the other half of the envelope on your car. The park staff start work at 7:40 AM, so we just gave them the envelope and money directly and parked inside the parking lot. 🌟Probably because it was a Monday, when we left at noon, the parking lot was still about one-tenth empty. Apparently, it fills up early on weekends and holidays. The hiking trail is about 3 and a half hours one-way. You need to return the same way, and the entire trail follows a small stream. You’ll have to cross the stream at least twelve times one way, making it a great spot to visit in the summer with kids. You can get up close to the red rocks, and it’s quite close to the mountains on either side, a bit like the Narrows in Zion. 🌟Crossing the stream involves stepping on stones and logs, which might not be suitable for the elderly or those with limited mobility. Apparently, you can walk another two miles in the water at the end of the trail, but only in the summer when there’s no heavy rain. Water enthusiasts might want to visit often. 🌟The surrounding Red Rocks weren’t particularly outstanding. #Hiking #USA #Photography
