Sei Ryu Sushi Omakase | Unexpectedly Great! ๐ฃโจ
Spotted this new omakase spot at The Forum over the weekend, and honestly โ I went in with low expectations. Omakase in a shopping center? Usually feels too "Americanized" or gimmicky. But wow, was I wrong! Every dish impressed with freshness and thoughtful seasoning โ zero letdowns. ๐ฅข Madai Usuzukuri Light, fresh, and clean โ a perfect start. ๐ฎ Lobster Taco The shell was airy-crisp (not heavy fried), and the lobster was sweet and tender. Well-balanced and not overwhelming. ๐ฆ Uni Tasting Set Santa Barbara Uni: Sweet, fresh, my favorite of the trio. Hokkaido Uni: Good, but not as fresh that day. Japanese Special: Creamy and rich. ๐ฆช Oysters Solid, with a hint of raspberry that made the fish roe pop even more. ๐ฃ Chef Special Nigiri Set Unexpectedly excellent. White fish paired with shiso or yuzu, red fish like chu-toro with wasabi and o-toro with caviar โ each piece highlighted the fish beautifully without being heavy. ๐ Sake Toro (Aburi Style) Lightly torched to bring out the oils โ even better than raw! ๐ Uni Pasta Went back just for this! Fresh, sweet uni with salted kombu (not cream-based), topped with tiny fish roe for a fun crunch. Would be next-level with a touch of truffle oil. (The okra slices made it a bit sticky for my taste, though.) ๐ถ Kid-Friendly Bonus We walked in without a reservation โ with a toddler โ and they were super welcoming. Our little one loved the tamagoyaki and grilled fish. The outdoor seating also seems dog-friendly for warmer days! ๐โค๏ธ #SeiRyuSushi #AtlantaOmakase #SushiLove #JapaneseCuisine #ForumAtlanta #FamilyFriendly #FreshFish #FoodieFind #AtlantaEats #HiddenGem #DateNightWorthy
