Sharing my go-to restaurant list in the DMV before I move out 🥹

Can’t believe I’ve been living in this "food desert" for almost three years, and now I’m actually getting nostalgic right before leaving 😂 Here are some of my absolute favorite spots—all in Virginia! Let me know if you try them and like 'em 👇 1️⃣ ChoSun Hwaro Amazing KBBQ 🥩! I first tried it in Ellicott City, and they recently opened in Fairfax! Their meat is so tender and juicy 😭 Definitely try the oyster pancake—tastes just like Taiwanese oyster omelette! 2️⃣3️⃣ Y Noodles This place is THE light of Chinese food around here 💡! I’ve been eating here for over half a year, and now there’s always a line on weekends. The restaurant is small, but their chili oil is fragrant and incredible 🌶️🧄. Eat it with their braised pork and you’ll cry tears of joy lol. 4️⃣ Jang Won Chinese-Korean fusion with huge portions! Whenever I crave something sweet and sour, I think of their tangsuyuk (sweet & pork pork) 🍖. Their seafood noodle soup has such a rich, wok-hei flavor too! 5️⃣6️⃣ Sushi Oishii Such good value for AYCE sushi 🍣! The sashimi is pretty fresh. I actually gave them a bad review when they first opened because service was slow… but they improved a lot and now I’m obsessed 😍 Super affordable! 7️⃣ El Pollo Rico Found this place randomly on Google Maps—it had super high ratings so I gave it a try. Their grilled chicken is charcoal-roasted, super tender and juicy 🔥🍗! I also love their yuca fries—kind of like fried yam 😋 8️⃣ Tortas y Tacos La Chiquita II Their beef tongue tacos are a MUST-order 👅🌮!! 9️⃣ Kajiken Ramen Fallschurch Don’t go often since it’s fairly new, but their dry ramen is delicious! Especially the miso meat sauce one 🍜💥 🔟 DCG Simple menu—just rice bowls and wraps. Their chicken rice tastes just like the ones from food trucks in NYC 🍚🍗. My go-to when I can’t decide what to eat! 1️⃣1️⃣ Kizuna Sushi & Ramen Their chirashi bowl is HEAVENLY 😇… and they have uni and toro!! 1️⃣2️⃣ Teas'n You No pic because I go here too often lol 🧋 Looks like a typical American bubble tea shop, but their ube cold brew is SO GOOD!
