Shenandoah River State Park in Early Autumn is Simply Gorgeous! 🍂🐢

While hiking the trail at Shenandoah River State Park today, I came across a little Eastern Box Turtle – a protected species! ❤️ Somehow my little one spotted it and wanted to take it home as a pet 🥹. It was super cute and lively, with such beautiful markings on its shell and bright eyes. But after looking it up online, I learned that taking it home wouldn’t actually help it thrive. So before leaving, we returned it to its forest home — though it was hard to say goodbye. Hope we meet again someday, little turtle! 🌿 With so many school breaks in the U.S., today was the last day of our long weekend to enjoy the autumn foliage. Though it's still early in the season, the weather was so perfect that the scenery was absolutely dazzling.
