Weekend = time to try a new spot. Went solo and found this gorgeous Japanese restaurant in the super chill Silver Lake. If you’re dining alone, sit at the bar. Tell the chef “Sai sent me” to get access to their hidden omakase menu — totally worth it! 🥔 Gamjajum (Potato Pancake) A simple potato scallion pancake, made extraordinary — crispy outside, topped with a generous scoop of caviar for extra umami. Eaten like tartare — impossible to stop eating. 🦆 Duck A surprising fusion favorite. Medium-rare duck breast — juicy inside, firm outside — topped with caramelized persimmon and a touch of vinegar to cut through the richness. One bite = rich duck + sweet persimmon = irresistible. 🍞 Uni Toast Custardy aged egg yolk + Japanese sea urchin + caviar on golden crispy toast. Crisp outside, soft inside — the egg yolk bursts, paired with sweet uni and salty caviar… addictive! 🐟 Maguro Monaka Modern fusion: crispy mochi shell filled with pickled radish, tuna cubes, Japanese uni, and caviar. Crunchy outside, soft tuna, sweet uni, popping caviar — layers of flavor and texture. Unforgettable.
