Snow Lake Trail Conditions
I never want to miss a single sunny winter day in Seattle ☀️❄️, so this Saturday (12/13), I headed straight to Snow Lake. Due to recent warm weather and no fresh snowfall on the trail—plus Snow Lake’s relatively low elevation—there was almost no snow along the path. Only near the top did a light snow cover appear. You can check the trail conditions in the last photo 📸. If we could have snow-dusted branches under a clear sky, the view would have been absolutely magical ❄️🌲… but I'm not one to be too greedy—a sunny day alone is already a gift 😊. 📍 Getting there: About a 1-hour drive from Bellevue 🚗, with good road conditions. 🏞 Trail notes: Similar to Lake 22, most of the hike winds through the forest, leading up to a beautiful alpine lake. Winter lighting isn’t as bright as in summer, so timing matters! ⏳ Recommended schedule: Start around 11 AM, finish by 3 PM—it gets dark shortly after 4 PM 🌄. 🥾 Gear suggestions: Given today's trail conditions, microspikes weren’t essential, but they’re still worth carrying in winter—just in case! 🅿 Parking: Snow Lake shares its parking lot with the Alpental Ski Area 🎿. Parking fee is around $30. Since the ski season hasn’t started yet, spots were plenty. Trailhead has decent cell service 📶. ⚠️ Note: There’s a "No Drones" sign posted at the lake 🚫✈️. #SnowLakeSeattle #WinterHiking #SeattleWinter #HikeTheWorld #WinterTrails #WinterScenery
