So, What’s for Tomorrow? | French Cuisine in Chicago
🌟Taking the opportunity of visiting the auto show, I finally caught the last train of Chicago Restaurant Week and found a French restaurant to experience. 🌟The Restaurant Week menu is a three-course meal, $60 per person. In addition, this restaurant also has a daily happy hour, where oysters and beer are quite affordable. 🌟For the first appetizer, I ordered beef tartare and a seafood platter. The beef tartare is well-seasoned, with not much of the raw meat’s fishy smell. Paired with warm fried potato chips, the flavor is even better, although the chips are a bit too salty. The oysters in the seafood platter are fresh and plump, very smooth when eaten; the crab leg meat is even more amazing, with a sweet taste and very fresh. In comparison, the shrimp is just average. 🌟For the second main course, I ordered Burgundy beef stew and sea bass. When the two main dishes arrived, the plates were hot, which is a plus! The beef is very tender and melts in your mouth, but the sauce has a strong balsamic vinegar flavor, which is somewhat uniquely sour. It reminded me of the “special local food” I had at a farm in the south of France once. It’s hard to say which one is more of an acquired taste. The sea bass is good, but not particularly impressive. 🌟For the third dessert, I ordered soufflé and crème caramel. The soufflé is very eggy and mixed with a hint of lemon. However, the dish it’s served in feels a bit lazy. The caramel layer on the crème caramel is quite thick, but the cooking is well-controlled. The vanilla seeds are clearly visible in the pudding, and it also has lemon added. It seems like both desserts share the same formula. #FrenchCuisine #StudentEating #StudentRecipes #RestaurantRecommendation #ChicagoFood
