Sol Agave | LA Food Diary 📝🌮
Restaurant: Sol Agave (LA LIVE) Food Rating: 6.5/10 Randomly picked this Mexican spot near our hotel in Downtown LA—didn’t disappoint! Food was decent, and the vibe was super relaxed. 😌 🦑 Calamari Frito (7.5/10) Fried squid—batter wasn’t too thick or crispy, but the squid was tender. Served with chipotle aioli and cilantro aioli—mixing them tasted great! 🍶 🌮 Shrimp Taquitos (7/10) Looked complex but worked well—crispy tortilla, springy shrimp, and layered sauces. Pretty satisfying! 🍤 🥩 Sugar Cane Filet (5.5/10) Thought sugarcane sweetness with beef might be weird… but it was actually interesting! Sauce was nice, but the beef was overcooked, and the rice underneath felt random. Portion was huge—barely touched it. 🍚 🍟 Complimentary chips and salsa were okay—came with one cold and one warm dip. A nice touch! 🍸 Margarita Flight Four small margaritas in different flavors. Drinks were average, but the salt and chili powder on the rim won me over! 🌶️🧂 #LosAngelesEats #LAFoodDiary #MexicanFood #DowntownLA #SolAgave #MargaritaFlight #FoodReview #LADining #CasualEats #TrySomethingNew
