South Australia Adelaide 7-Day In-Depth Trip — Day 1

Today’s itinerary: Mount Lofty ⛰️ → Mount Lofty Botanic Garden → Maple Leaf Village 🍁 Hahndorf German Town Started the day at 10 AM driving from Adelaide CBD – just over 30 minutes to 【Mount Lofty Summit】. This lookout offers a panoramic view of the whole city 🌆. Spent about half an hour taking photos and enjoying the scenery. There’s a coin press machine where you can turn $2 into a souvenir stamped with local landmarks, kangaroos, or koalas 🪙🐨 – really special! Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ Drove another 10 minutes to 【Mount Lofty Botanic Garden】 nestled on the hillside. This garden blends water, hills, and lush plants into a peaceful autumn paradise 🍁🌳. The colours are stunning – red leaves, green trees – super photogenic! Highly recommend for photo lovers and autumn enthusiasts. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Next stop: 【Hahndorf German Village】, the famous maple leaf town 🍁! The streets are lined with maple trees, and the passing cars and pedestrians create such a vibe. This village was founded by Germans seeking refuge from war, and it’s kept its authentic charm till today. We first stopped at a farm barn zoo where we spotted peacocks 🦚, deer 🦌, donkeys, ostriches, and Australian cattle dogs. On the way back to town, we passed a strawberry farm 🍓 – unfortunately, picking season was over, so we settled for strawberry ice cream and cheesecake instead 😋. Back in Hahndorf, we parked and wandered through craft shops, bought some cute souvenirs, and as it got dark, we headed to the famous 【Hahndorf Inn】 for dinner 🍽️. Ordered their famous Deluxe Platter: huge pork knuckle, pork ribs, sausages, all delicious! Washed it down with German beer 🍺✨ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Full and happy, we drove back to the hotel.
