South of France, Rainy Nice is Perfect for Museum Hopping! 🌧️

I haven't finished writing my travelogue yet, but I'm taking advantage of my face mask time to share it now! 🧖‍♀️ 🌧️On my last full day in Nice, the weather continued to be really bad. By the time I got everything packed, it was already noon. We drove to an area outside Nice called Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, which looked incredibly beautiful by the sea on Google! Absolutely stunning! But because of the rain, my partner went for a short walk while I stayed in the car, and we eventually decided to leave. I don't know why I'm so smart to search again for what else to do in Nice, especially for indoor activities. I found out that Nice actually has a lot of museums! There are at least 10 museums clustered in the city center, and guess what! You can buy a joint ticket! For 15 euros per person, you can visit dozens of museums within 4 days! 🎫 🌧️So, in just 3 hours (since museums usually close at 6 PM and you can't enter after 5 PM), we visited Villa Masséna and Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nice. We saw so many paintings—I was so happy! I was also really impressed by the wisdom of people from decades, a century, or even centuries ago! We even stumbled upon a Monet original! The entire venue was empty except for the two of us, and we took our time looking at it from different angles. I did some more research and found out that Nice has even more museums that I'd love to visit, but we just didn't have the time. For anyone planning to visit Nice next time, make sure to set aside a whole day for museum hopping and remember to get the 15 euro joint ticket! Otherwise, a single ticket to any museum would cost you around 10 euros. I haven't seen anyone post about this on Xiaohongshu yet. 🌧️In the evening, we went to a Chinese restaurant called restaurant chinois Yangtse Riviera (Google translation: Yangtze River). There was an auntie there, probably the owner, who was very warm and welcoming. She let us in before the official opening time at 6 PM. I ordered four meat dishes and three bowls of rice, no drinks, and the total was a bit over 70 euros. The food was flavorful and spicy! The only two downsides were: first, the portions were relatively small. For example, we planned to order four dishes and pack half for breakfast the next day, but we had to be careful not to finish everything. The braised pork was gone in no time, and we had to ration the rest. Compared to the authentic Chinese food I've had in the UK over the past few months, the portions here were smaller. Second, hearing the chef coughing in the kitchen made me feel a bit uneasy about cleanliness. The next afternoon, we had a flight back to the UK. After checking out, we sat by the sea, listening to music and drinking coffee, but the weather continued to be bad! After an hour, we were ready to drive to the airport when, suddenly, the weather cleared up. I really wanted to stop the car and run to the pebble beach to lie down and enjoy the sun! 🌞 Nice is definitely worth visiting again and again! #Nice #FranceTravel
