Southern France Marseille: My Go-To Seafood Spot | A Must-Visit Every

When it comes to Marseille, this restaurant is non-negotiable for me—I hit it up every time I’m in town. If you’re obsessed with oysters 🦪, shrimp 🦐, crab 🦀, sea urchin, or all kinds of shellfish 🐚, this is your place (check out photos 2 and 3). Personally, their shrimp steals the show, followed closely by the oysters and sea urchin. Even better? They do takeout, so grabbing a feast to enjoy elsewhere is a breeze. 🦞 About the Spot Name: Pierrot Coquillages Kiosque (see photo 4 for the exterior) Prices: Take a peek at photo 5—affordable enough to splurge on a spread without guilt. For a breakdown, photo 6 has the translated menu. Location: Just a stone’s throw from Plage du Prado. After your seafood feast, wander over to the beach—especially in summer, when the sunset paints the sky in stunning hues (photo 7 captures it perfectly). ⏰ Hours to Note Restaurant service: Open for lunch (12:00–14:00) and dinner (from 19:00) daily. Reservations are available—link in the comments! Seafood shop hours:🤣 Monday–Saturday: 7:00–20:30 Sunday: 7:00–13:00, then 16:00–20:30 What makes this spot a staple? It’s simple: freshness that shines. No fancy sauces, no over-the-top presentations—just high-quality seafood that lets the ocean’s flavors speak for themselves. On my second day, I hit up a pizza joint. When the chef watched me polish off a whole anchovy pizza—extra salty, no flinching—he gave me a thumbs-up: “You’re a Marseille local now.”😂 The guy at the next table dived right into conversation, even bought me a “Mauresque”—a mix of almond syrup and Marseille’s iconic anise-flavored Pastis. “Can’t visit without trying this,” he said. Whether you’re dining in with a view of the water or grabbing takeout to enjoy on the beach, it’s the kind of place that makes you understand why Marseille’s coastal cuisine is legendary.😂 If you’re craving the best of the Mediterranean, don’t skip this one. It’s earned its spot as my Marseille seafood ritual. #Marseille#FrenchLife #RestaurantRecommendations #FranceTravel #StudentLifeAbroad #SeafoodLovers #GlobalFoodieSquad #SouthernFrance #WesternCuisine #ProvenceTravel #EuropeTravel #TravelGuide
