Southern U.S. Trip: Savannah 🗺️

Southern U.S. Trip: Charleston | Savannah 🗺️ A guide to the best spots and eats in these two charming Southern cities—get ready for history, sunshine, and so much good food! 😋 🍽️ Food Recommendations Lewis BBQ 🔥 Hands down the best BBQ in town! The sliced & chopped brisket is melt-in-your-mouth tender, pork ribs fall off the bone, and the sausage has the perfect spicy kick. Even the fries are crispy and seasoned to perfection—don’t skip this! Babas ☕ Their peanut mocha is good, but not mind-blowing. Worth a stop if you’re in the area, but don’t go out of your way. Pearlz Oyster 🦪 Obsessed with this place! Oysters are huge and cheap (win-win!), and both the southern fried and baked oysters are delicious. The lobster roll is stuffed with so much meat—no skimping here—and the cajun fries are spicy and addictive. Raw 167 💸 Major letdown. Tiny oysters cost $4 each—totally not special, and that price is crazy for a beach town (inland prices, smh). The crispy oysters were good, but the lobster roll ($37!) had way less meat than Pearlz, and the “fish today” ($52) was tasty but way too salty. Save your money—skip this! ⭐️ Savannah 📍 Must-See Spots River Street: Always bustling with restaurants, bars, and street performers. Stroll along the river, watch boats go by, and soak in the lively vibe 🌊. Forsyth Park: Savannah’s biggest park and so pretty. The iconic fountain is great for photos, and the moss-draped oak trees feel magical 🌳. Jones Street: Dubbed the “most beautiful street”—and for good reason! The historic buildings, colorful doors, and flower boxes make it feel like a movie set 🎬. 🍽️ Food Recommendations The Collins Quarter 🥞 Shockingly, there was no line when we went—score! The short rib is tender and flavorful, and the coconut chia pudding is a refreshing, sweet treat. The Thai iced coffee? Just okay—nothing to write home about. Common Thread 🦪 Happy Hour is a steal: oysters for $0.75 each! We found a few with sand, but they were super fresh, so it didn’t ruin the vibe. Tried the $3 ones too, and honestly? Not much difference. Pro tip: Get the short rib main—it’s fall-off-the-bone good. The Juicy Seafood 🦐 A popular spot for “crab boil” (hands-on seafood feast)! It’s about 15 minutes from downtown—if you don’t have a car, the Uber ride might not be worth it. The food is tasty, but not the best crab boil I’ve ever had. The Paris Market ☕ My favorite spot of the whole trip! I ordered a Honey Lavender Latte on a whim, and it was amazing—sweet, floral, and perfectly balanced. The vibe? Like a cozy Parisian café—so charming. Plus, the upstairs and downstairs are filled with cute knick-knacks and home goods—could’ve browsed for hours 🛒. Treylor Park 🌮 The shrimp tacos and wings are solid—flavorful and satisfying. But the fish & chips had way too thick a batter, and the tater tots were soggy (sad face 😢). #SouthCarolina#Charleston#Savannah#SouthernUSA#TravelFoodie
