Spokane, WA – A Hidden Gem Chinese Restaurant with 3.9 Google Rating!
Last weekend, my partner and I visited Palouse Falls State Park and decided to stop by Spokane 🏞️🚗. To our surprise, we discovered a delicious Chinese restaurant there! I “carefully selected” this place on Google Maps—it actually had the lowest rating among all Chinese restaurants in the area 😅, but based on some photos and reviews, we decided to give it a try. And guess what? We made the right choice! 🍽️ Name: Peking North As soon as I saw the Chinese name and the interior decor, I guessed the owner might be from Beijing—and turns out, I was right! The owner was super friendly 🥰. There was a large group dining in a private room that night, so the service was a bit slow, but the owner personally came to apologize and even chatted with us for a bit. We ordered two dishes, and both were delicious! The portions were huge—we even had leftovers to take home 🥡💖. 🐷 Yu Xiang Rou Si (Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce): A must-order here! Fresh pork stir-fried with tender bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, and dried shiitake mushrooms 🍄🔥. The wok hei was on point, and the balance of sweet, sour, and spicy was perfect. This is one of the best versions I’ve had in the U.S.! 🐟 Shui Zhu Yu (Sichuan Boiled Fish): The fish was fried first and then simmered—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside 🌶️🐟. The combination of red chili and Sichuan peppercorn created a numbing, aromatic spiciness that felt authentic—not like those generic hot-pot-base versions you find elsewhere. Overall, we left happy and full 😋❤️. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re passing through Spokane! Can’t wait to try more dishes. #Spokane #LifeInTheUS #WashingtonState #ChineseFood #SeattleFoodie #FoodDiary
