Step Onto This National Geographic Stunning Beach 🌊

Cannon Beach is a must-visit spot—it was once named one of the "World’s 100 Most Beautiful Places" by National Geographic. Its beauty feels almost unreal, like stepping into an otherworld ✨. What’s even better? It looks more breathtaking in person than in Xiaohongshu creators’ photos—you’ll never fall for "filtered illusions" here! We left Vancouver at 7:30 AM and arrived around 4:30 PM, just in time to catch the beach sunset 🌅. We kept taking photos until dark, unwilling to leave. The sand is soft and fine, and every view is stunning 📸. While we were there, we saw people surfing the waves 🏄, holding romantic weddings 💍, and lighting warm bonfires on the shore 🔥. Next time, I definitely want to stay overnight by the sea; the beachfront resorts look so cozy and relaxing 🏨. For dinner, we tried seafood pasta at an Italian restaurant in the small town—it was surprisingly delicious! The dish was loaded with fresh seafood, tossed in a rich cream sauce that wasn’t greasy at all 🥘. The restaurant was packed, which says everything about its popularity. The place is called Nonni's Italian Bistro—pasta lovers shouldn’t miss it! When driving from Washington to Oregon, don’t forget to take the Astoria-Megler Bridge. It’s an extremely long cross-sea bridge that stretches all the way to the horizon, offering amazing views as you cruise across 🚗. Oregon is a tax-free state, so it’s perfect for shopping! The Apple Store in downtown Portland is always bustling 🛍️, jewelry and watch shops have super friendly service, and local "Bird" stores (for outdoor gear) have a full stock. There are also many fun boutiques and outdoor equipment shops around. Interestingly, even the homeless tents in Portland seem nicer than those in Vancouver! We visited a Snow Peak store—they reportedly organize regular camping trips, which sounds fantastic ⛺. Of course, we also tried the mushroom cheeseburger at the classic American spot Shake Shack—it was mouthwatering 🍔. In my last post, I talked about Seattle’s outlet malls, and some Xiaohongshu friends said Woodburn Outlet in Portland has better deals—I’ll definitely check that out next time! A Japanese colleague also recommended Kura Sushi Bar, a popular Japanese chain—I’m eager to try it too 🍣. I took this trip during the long weekend last September, and 2-3 days was just right. If you’re planning a road trip for a long weekend, this itinerary is a great reference. I heard downtown Portland can be chaotic, so I stayed at Hyatt House Portland / Beaverton—it was clean, had a nice environment, and offered parking, which was a big relief 🅿️. #WeekendGetaways #VancouverSurroundings #NorthAmericaRoadTrip #SeattleSurroundings #PortlandTravel #ExploreWorldBeautyTogether
