Strawberry Picking at Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm in Dallas
πI finally got to pick strawberries in the spring! I've always wanted to visit Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm, but I heard it's so popular that you usually have to arrive before 6 a.m. on Saturdays. That's just too early for me. This Saturday, it was cloudy and even rained in the morning, making the ground muddy. But I saw on their Instagram that they would be open until 5 p.m., so my good friend and I decided to go! π The strawberry field is pretty large. Maybe because of the weather, when we arrived around 1 p.m., there weren't many people. You have to buy the farm's own red baskets for $4 each. You really need to carefully select the strawberries in the field because there aren't too many large, red ones. The strawberries are $8 per pound. They're sweet, but definitely not as sweet as the ones you can buy in the supermarket. The fun is in the process of picking them! You can also buy pre-picked strawberries and strawberry jam directly from the farm. Just by walking around, you can pick quite a few ripe strawberries. When you squat down to pick them, you can occasionally smell the sweet aroma of the strawberries, which is very pleasant. Compared to being crowded in the city, slowly picking strawberries and enjoying the sunshine here is what weekends should be like. π Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm 12141 Foutch Rd, Pilot Point, TX 76258 #Dallas #DallasLife #DallasFun #StrawberryPicking #TheJoyOfHarvesting
