Stunning Late Autumn on Highway 395 🍂✨
It’s that time of the year again—leaf-peeping season! Last year, I took a trip along Highway 395 just after the peak foliage period. Even though I barely caught the fall colors, the scenery was still absolutely breathtaking. 🏔️❤️ Recommended spots: 📍 Mono Lake: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ You have to go at sunset! The lake is dotted with incredible tufa towers—so dramatic that they’re stunning even without autumn colors. At dusk, the water turns a soft, dreamy pink 🌅💖. Heads up: you’ll need to drive a short off-road stretch to reach the shore. 📍 June Lake: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A calm, expansive lake that’s perfect in the soft light of morning or afternoon. On a clear day, the water is brilliantly blue and beautiful 💙. We even spotted a deer grazing nearby! 🦌 📍 Little Lakes Trail: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This trail is about 8 miles round trip with 1,000 ft of elevation gain—not too difficult, but be mindful of the high altitude. We visited all eight lakes along the way, and it took us around 5 hours. Top lake picks: Heart Lake, Long Lake, Marsh Lake, and especially Gem Lake—a true hidden gem 💎 with unbelievably clear, green water. Time seemed to stop when we reached it 🥹. 🏠 We stayed in Bishop—super convenient to everything! ⚠️ Mammoth Lakes area is at high elevation—watch out for altitude sickness and take it easy. #TravelGuide #AutumnNature #FallUnderTheMountains #LeafPeeping #CaliforniaLife #Highway395 #BayAreaLife #EasternSierra #MonoLake #JuneLake #LittleLakesTrail #HikingAdventures #CaliforniaFall #ScenicDrives #NatureLovers
